Day One. Here’s something to Think About, To Try, To Know and To Ask.

Something to think about…

Who are you?

Most of us we think that what we do defines who we are. The trouble with this way of thinking is our identity gets wrapped up in that belief.

It’s the same in relationships if you say your partner ‘completes’ you. What happens when they are no longer there? Are you only half a person?

The more we understand who we are to the core, the less external factors like losing jobs, friends, partners will change that. It’s your one constant. To quote Dr Seuss: “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

Something to try…

A new taste

Like most of you, when it comes to cooking evening meals, as a family we are pretty set in what we eat. In fact one of my daughters even called me out on it and told me to up my game. And whilst I could have told her to cook herself, she had a point. Even I was getting bored of our dinners.

So with the huge amount of cookbooks we have on our shelf that are never used, myself and Andrea dusted some off and now pick one a month, and then we cook one new recipe each from each book. It’s not always successful, but that’s not the point. We try, we test, we learn what works and what doesn’t, and adapt. Isn’t that what life’s all about?

Something to know…

There’s always enough to go around.

You wanting stuff in life, whether that’s success, the dream job, dream house or whether it’s to feel loved, happy and fulfilled doesn’t mean that someone else doesn’t get to have their dream come true.

For example If you and your friend are looking for love and they find someone, it doesn’t mean they’ve depleted the love tank and there is less for you now. There is enough of pretty much everything to go round for all of us.

And the great news if if your friend gets that job, finds love, is really happy, allow it to be infectious. If you are in a group of 5 people and 4 of them are successful, it’s highly likely you’ll be next. Whether you believe in luck, manifestation or purely statistics, your turn is coming, so keep believing.

Something to ask yourself…

Is what you say and what you do aligned? If not, is it the ‘saying’ or the ‘doing’ that’s stopping you from being the you that you want to be?
